ChordPro is a text format for a song chart. Chords sit in square brackets on the lyric line. Curly braces hold the title, the key, and the section names.
Put a chord in brackets immediately before the word or syllable it belongs to:
A[G]mazing [G7]grace, how [C]sweet the [G]sound
SongFire draws the chord above the lyric. You can type the same chart in chords-over-lyrics format in the editor. SongFire stores it as ChordPro either way.
A section directive starts a verse, chorus, bridge, intro or other section. SongFire uses the name as the heading when rendering the displayed song. Each section type can have custom lyric formatting, e.g. choruses can look different from verses, etc.
{c: Intro} or {comment: Intro}{c: Verse} or {comment: Verse}, {start_of_verse} or {sov}, and {verse} or {v}. An optional number marks which verse, e.g. {v1}, {verse: 2}.{c: Chorus} or {comment: Chorus}, {start_of_chorus} or {soc} starts a chorus. An optional number marks which chorus, e.g. {c: Chorus 2}.{chorus} directive does not start a new section. It is a cue to the musician to repeat the chorus. A label can be included in the cue, for example: {Chorus: Final}. The cue does not show the chorus lyrics again. To do that, use Section flow.{start_of_bridge} or {sob}, and {bridge} or {b}. An optional number marks which bridge, e.g. {b1}, {bridge: 2}.Chorus:{c: Instrumental} or {c: Ending}, and you can define custom formatting for them in Song Sections. You can optionally close a section with the matching end directive: {end_of_verse} or {eov}, {end_of_chorus} or {eoc}, {end_of_bridge} or {eob}.
These directives are applied and removed during song import. They aren't recognized after the song is in your library:
{title: } and {subtitle: }{artist: }{key: } and {capo: }{tempo: } and {time: }{copyright: }{tag: } for one tag, or several tags separated by commas. {topic: } and {keyword: } are synonyms for {tag: }.
